Abstract

The interaction between users and online platforms significantly influences their perception and satisfaction levels. In the case of financial institutions, this factor is crucial to build solid and lasting relationships with their customers. Therefore, it is essential for them to identify areas for improvement in their graphical interfaces. In this process, eye-tracking technology, which captures the user's gaze, can naturally reveal their intent when interacting with a web application, allowing them to identify and solve many of the Human-Computer Interaction issues present.

In this study, the Tobii Pro Nano eye-tracking device was used to capture the interaction of ten people between 20 and 35 and ten people between 45 and 60 with the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Chone Limitada web platform when performing three tasks: displaying the options menu, viewing account movements, and preparing an interbank transaction. The analysis conducted with the help of Tobii Pro Lab revealed that older people experience more cognitive load and made it possible to propose a six-action improvement plan.
