Abstract

The increase in diseases of different pathologies in Ecuador has driven the need for innovative strategies. In this context, Big Data emerges as a key tool, offering the ability to integrate polymorphic data from various sources to improve health decision-making. The present study proposed to analyze the impact of Big Data on the prevention, detection and treatment of diseases in the Ecuadorian context, with the aim of deepening the understanding of how data integration can offer a holistic vision of population health. We sought to identify how this integration can enhance the effectiveness of medical interventions. The research was based on an exhaustive analysis of case studies, successful implementations and challenges encountered in the application of Big Data in the Ecuadorian health system. Polymorphic data, including medical records, genomic and environmental data, were examined to assess their impact on decision making. In conclusion, the implementation of Big Data in disease management in Ecuador represents a significant advance. This article highlighted the importance of integrating digital technologies to move towards a more preventive and personalized approach in Ecuadorian healthcare.
