Revista U-Mores Vol. 1 Núm. 2

In the second issue of U-Mores journal, from the editorial team, we wish to celebrate one of the most important days of the quarter for the scientific field: the World Health Day, commemorated in April. This month coincides with the selection process of those scientific articles that, after going through an exhaustive review process, are considered the most relevant contributions that we wish to share with the whole community, and in this issue, their authors pay tribute to such a significant date.

In July 1946, in New York, the representatives of 61 countries, gathered at the International Sanitary Conference of the United Nations, agreed on the formation of a world sanitary organization that would unify several pre-existing organizations. This agreement became effective on April 7, 1948, when the Constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO) came into force, thus culminating a movement toward international health cooperation that had been gaining momentum for many years. The general framework that has guided its actions is the recognition of health as a fundamental right of every individual and the responsibility of governments to provide the means to achieve it. Each year WHO celebrates this day with a different theme, focusing on a specific aspect of public health, this year's 2022 theme is "our planet, our health".

In this period of renaissance, of revision of our practices and ways of linking ourselves, where mental health has gained a prominence never before experienced in the history of science, the team of the U-Mores journal, and the researchers who choose us to communicate their work, celebrate together with the scientific community this motto, 74 years after the beginning of a global agreement for the health of all peoples.

In this issue we find the following articles: "Mental health and quality of life in Ecuadorian population exposed to the covid-19 pandemic", "Sociodemographic factors, quality of life and coping with perceived stress in Ecuadorian population exposed to the pandemic (covid-19)" and "Perceived stress and quality of life in the Ecuadorian population exposed to the covid-19 pandemic". The objective of these studies is to assess the impact of exposure to the covid-19 pandemic on the mental health and quality of life of the Ecuadorian population. These studies present the levels of stress and anxiety presented by workers, students and diverse populations, from different research points of view, and from the use of a variety of validation instruments.

On the other hand, "Educational practice in the three areas of action in the U. E. B "Héctor Castillo Reyes" is a research that analyzes some of the factors that may interfere in the learning process and low performance in the first years of elementary school students. The article describes the particular case study in a public sector school with a deficient infrastructure and a high population of students with a low to medium economic level, where the influence of the conditions of the educational facilities is evaluated, together with the deficient resources available to teachers in the teaching and learning process.

Finally, "Family stress and executive functions in children with ADHD from 8 to 12 years old from a specialized center in the city of Cuenca - Ecuador", aims to investigate the possible existence of a relationship between perceived levels of family stress and performance in executive functions in children who have been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

This is a new presentation, but it is also an invitation to the entire scientific community to be part of this space, it is a letter of intent for the generation of meeting places, debate, review, and communication of empirical evidence as the inalienable basis of our practices.
