Abstract

The research focuses on the programming language used in Code.org for the development of logical mathematical reasoning in middle-level children of basic education in Ecuador, which is considered as the most suitable for children to work in programming computer, since it has a friendly graphical in-terface and programs on objects, all of which also helps to improve their performance in other areas. The linking of the Code.org concepts, the programming language and the mathematical logic constitutes the main guide of the research that, ultimately, aims to verify, in the Ecuadorian context, whether or not the programming exercises any influence on the mathematical capacity of the child, and, if it does, in what way it does it, what is its methodology and what are the pedagogical foundations in the teaching-learning process. The final results showed that the teaching of the programming language in Code.org stimulates the logical-mathematical capacity of the students, both in a general way and in each of the indicators studied.
