Abstract

Covid-19, in the field of occupational stress, presents new challenges and an uncertain and slow recovery that causes instability. Different organizations, such as the World Health Organization, defend the importance of occupational health and well-being in all aspects, physical, mental and social, in the face of this pandemic situation. In this sense, one of the objectives of this study is to evaluate the psychosomatic symptoms that have been presented in workers as a result of work stress in organizations by covid-19 of the Ecuadorian population. This is a quali-quantitative study, of non-experimental design, with an exploratory and descriptive scope. An online survey was applied to 518 people from the Ecuadorian population, who consented to participate, using the WHOQOL-BREF test and perceived stress. As part of the results, it is determined that 64.7% of the respondents have been diagnosed with covid-19, 52.4% rarely have negative feelings, 27.7% almost never have felt affected as if something serious was going to happen unexpectedly with the pandemic and 10.1% almost always have felt unable to control important things in their life because of the pandemic. Different percentages of people infected with covid-19 are reported, it can also be observed that the negative emotional states of depression, anxiety and stress, in a higher percentage have not occurred; on the other hand, the majority have a satisfactory quality of life in the psychological aspect, physical health, social and environmental relationships; a stress related to the pandemic is perceived in most participants.
